Absent from school - What do I do?
Being absent from school is inevitable. There are special family trips, unexpected illnesses, doctor’s appointments and, sometimes, special treats that take you away from the regular routine. We understand that many things can occur to keep students away from school.
That being said, we want to make it very clear that it is the student’s responsibility to follow through with catching up on missed work and doing everything s/he can to make up assignments in a timely manner.
The instruction, discussions, and interactions within the classroom are invaluable and irreplaceable. We are confident that you will take this into consideration when making plans for your family.

Philosophy on Homework
It is our hope that homework is an enriching part of each child’s learning experience. We expect students to spend between 20 and 40 minutes on work beyond their independent reading. We do not want homework to become a struggle between parents and students. If students have done their best on a piece of homework, then they have fulfilled the assignment.
